About

BakeryGreggs
We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth. Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks. Whether you’re into a hot sandwich, a pasta salad, some delicious chicken goujons or a fresh cold sandwich – our meal deals are doing the most in a mouth-watering way. Bundle on whichever side takes your fancy. We’re talking crispy Southern Fried Potato Wedges, a classic bag of crisps, protein-packed egg pots, fruit pots or creamy yoghurt. Plus, grab a drink to top it all off. From a classic Latte or a Mocha to a Raspberry Lemonade or a crisp Iced Mango & Strawberry Cooler – it’s yours. Pre-order on Click + Collect to skip the queue like a VIP, or get what you want delivered to your door via Just Eat or Uber Eats. Whichever way you have it - there’s definitely one thing better than a Greggs – and that’s a FREE Greggs. The Greggs App has never been tastier. Packed full of seriously stomach-rumbling news, rewards and ways to order – it really is the inner circle for all things yummy. Plus, it’s a sure-fire way to bag some free treats - and who doesn’t love a free treat?

Come in quite often to grab a snack or some lunch on my break and for the most part i have no issues but recently i’ve noticed one member of staff being quite horrible to others. She seems to ruin the mood in the shop as she’s always making rude or mean remarks. Management need to have a word with her. Name starts with S

A young girl, holly, is always so helpful everytime I'm in the shop. Five stars for her. She always answers any questions about products and is really helpful explaining the meal deals to me and my family. She's not been in the shop recently, it's not the same without her there.

We were in Sat quite late 4.30ish, so not busy! not one table was clean, floors were boggin! Nearly slipped twice and that was me avoiding the big blobs of sauce on the floors. A few people came in after us and did the same thing trying to pick the best of the messy seating. Didnt even contemplate using the loo. 🤢

came in to quickly grab something for lunch, use my manners like you’d think a normal person would, the normal please and thank yous - when i was distracted by the abhorrent way the other member of staff was talking to her customer. (an elderly lady who was on her own and seemed to be a bit confused/undecided on what she wanted.) when she had her food on the counter, she asked “is the price with the coffee included?” to which the lady behind the till responded. “you never asked me for a coffee?” with her voice raised and tone angry. the woman, who apologised and even said “do you do coffee here?” - indicating that maybe this was her first time within this greggs and if so, what an awful way to be treated as a first impression. it was lunchtime, busy and loud and even i was a bit overwhelmed, but to hear this staff member start listing off different coffees in a loud, drowning voice as if it was such an inconvenience for her to actually show some compassion and do her job, whilst the lady beside me quietly settled on a latte, she kept going - listing them on and on. i’d like to reiterate - the elderly lady was alone, clearly grabbing something for lunch and she was met with the most disgusting, rude customer service i’ve actually ever witnessed. based on these other reviews it doesn’t seem to be the first time, but nothing seems to be done. your staff are unwelcoming, their customer service is shocking and you should be ashamed of yourselves. do better.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
