About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Honestly, there’s a right miserable older woman works in here, glasses on, must be in her 50s or 60s. Proper confrontational with customers, and you can tell she’s worse with folk who don’t look like her. Service is shocking. When you’re ordering food she’s got no patience, rushing you like she’s got somewhere better to be, and the drinks come out like no thought’s gone into em. Acts like she’s doing you a favour just serving you. Happened to me twice at breakfast, and once when my wife popped in for a drink in the afternoon – all on different days, so it’s not just a one-off. One time I asked for a bit of brown sauce on my breakfast sandwich and she pulled a face and proper squashed it before wrapping it up. Just unnecessary. Then today, my wife and I went in together. We were aiming to grab a couple pizzas and sausage rolls before heading off, but I picked up some forks before this while we were there having our drink, and she starts questioning us ‘WHAT ARE THE FORKS FOR?!’ like a blaring sickly goat. Like we’re trying to nick stuff. Proper attitude, like we’re a bunch of criminals. Funny how she doesn’t seem to do that with people like herself. Absolute disgrace, to be honest. People like that make everywhere worse. Proper dehumanising way to treat folk. Can’t just be a bad day either when it keeps happening. Even if she’s got stuff going on, no excuse for treating people like that. Best just avoid. Proper toxic atmosphere and nasty attitudes. Not worth your money or your time.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
