Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

larger, older woman always super rude, argumentative and stuck up. on multiple occasions i have had issues with her now including her not listening, cutting me off from what im saying when im being genuine polite and just trying to get my food. originally thought it was me but ive seen reviews from others complaining of her service too and witnessed her being rude to others before. Always use this greggs when im in the bus station but whenever i see her serving now im choosing not to go in due to her constant rudeness.

The larger lady working was very rude to me and my partner asking multiple times if we wanted anything else even though we very clearly and loudly said no, then as we were leaving she shouted something back at us not sure what she said though. This isn’t the first time either as my partner had another incident around a year ago where she kept asking him if he was sitting in or taking away and he was repeatedly telling her that he was taking away, it got so bad that other customers in the queue had to tell her he was taking away too. Will most definitely not be coming back as this clearly is not being sorted out by management.

This Greggs has a large seating area for sitting in, plenty of food and drink to choose from. It is also in the bus station so great if you're wanting a bite to eat whilst travelling.

I had gone in the other day to purchase a Sausage and Bacon breakfast roll, and as I was in the queue, I witnessed one of the workers behind the till taking a piece of bacon from where it is kept and eat it! How unprofessional and unhygienic! I personally wouldn't want to have my bacon contaminated. When I was trying to figure out her name, I believed it to be Diana, absolutely abhorrent behaviour!

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
