I shared a review a little while back about being overcharged for reduced items. However Tesco had my review removed, so I'm putting it back again. Generally it's a decent store, ample parking with petrol station. Self service car wash is often out of order which is a shame, as it's well used when working.

Unacceptable customer service received today from Tesco Calne. A member of your team named Sophie was extremely rude. The way she talked to us and displayed a very poor attitude was unacceptable. As a regular customer, I was deeply disappointed by how dismissive and unprofessional she was, which completely failed to meet the standards of customer care I expect from Tesco.

Tesco Calne superstore customer service. I have been a Tesco customer for more than a decade, and this is honestly the first time I have had such a disappointing experience with customer service. I understand that Tesco has an age-verification policy and that staff may refuse a sale if the required ID is not provided. I have no issue with staff following company policy. However, the way the situation was handled by a staff member named Sophie was very disappointing. Sophie was rude and dismissive towards me and my wife. Even when enforcing company policy, customers should be treated with courtesy and respect. The way we were spoken to made what should have been a straightforward situation unnecessarily unpleasant. I have already spoken to the store manager and explained what happened. After being a Tesco customer for over ten years, I genuinely expected better customer service. I hope Tesco takes this feedback seriously and looks into the way this situation was handled. My complaint is not about Tesco’s policy, but about the manner in which Sophie dealt with us.
