Popped in for a few drinks and a bite to eat. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We decided to eat in the lovely beer garden. The food came quickly after ordering it was all amazing. Reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

We booked a table online with the plan to stop for some lunch after a walk nearby, with our young son. Shortly after booking, we received a phone call to say that our table would need to be cancelled; this was due to there being an event that afternoon, however there would be a barbecue which we were welcome to come along for. This sounded ideal as we just needed something to eat to refuel after the walk, and the event sounded like something we would like to support, too.
We arrived at 12:30pm (on a Saturday afternoon) and the event was being set up with musician arriving. Note that having looked up the event in the meantime, it was advertised as starting from 12:00pm. We ordered some drinks at the bar and asked about the BBQ, to which we were told it would start at 1pm. At this point the pub was very quiet, with one guy working the bar and a waitress folding napkins to the side.
It approached 1pm and no sign of any food being served, either BBQ or otherwise. At 1:15pm I went back inside the pub to ask about food, as we were very hungry (having originally ‘booked’ our table for 12:30pm). There was still just the one guy at the bar, who was busy dealing with some customers who seemingly had a problem with their accommodation booking. I sensed that this would take a while and there was no-one else around who I could speak to to ask if we could order food. I can understand if things don’t go to plan and there are delays, but there was nothing else happening, and certainly no food being served anywhere. At this point, and getting increasingly hungry, we decided to leave and go elsewhere. Unfortunately a very disappointing visit.

We saw the launch of the new menu on Facebook, so we decided to go for a date night and give it a try.
We phoned ahead to book a table, and when we arrived the pub was busy. A member of staff kindly asked us to grab a drink at the bar while they prepared our table, and after around 10 minutes we were seated.
The staff recommended the flat iron chicken, while my wife chose the curry — both dishes were absolutely delicious. We also noticed the pub is undergoing a revamp, which is looking really promising.
Unfortunately, we didn’t get a chance to catch up with Ant & Ben, which was a shame — maybe they were on holiday!
We had a great night and can’t wait to come back and try more of the new menu. *****
