- MMMoniqueJun 7, 20261.0Unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience with the manager (yellow hair and big glasses) I recently started doing delivery work alongside my professional career, and I was surprised by the way I was spoken to. The issue centred around my insulated delivery bag. The manager incorrectly insisted that a delivery bag must have a silver lining to be suitable for food deliveries. In reality, many insulated bags use different materials, and what matters is that they effectively maintain food temperature. I found the tone of the phone conversation unnecessarily sharp and unprofessional. I was also reported despite having an appropriate insulated bag, which felt excessive and unwarranted. I would expect staff, particularly management, to have a better understanding of delivery requirements and to treat drivers with more courtesy and respect.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
