We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.
Whether you’re into a hot sandwich, a pasta salad, some delicious chicken goujons or a fresh cold sandwich – our meal deals are doing the most in a mouth-watering way. Bundle on whichever side takes your fancy. We’re talking crispy Southern Fried Potato Wedges, a classic bag of crisps, protein-packed egg pots, fruit pots or creamy yoghurt. Plus, grab a drink to top it all off. From a classic Latte or a Mocha to a Raspberry Lemonade or a crisp Iced Mango & Strawberry Cooler – it’s yours.
Pre-order on Click + Collect to skip the queue like a VIP, or get what you want delivered to your door via Just Eat or Uber Eats.
Whichever way you have it - there’s definitely one thing better than a Greggs – and that’s a FREE Greggs. The Greggs App has never been tastier. Packed full of seriously stomach-rumbling news, rewards and ways to order – it really is the inner circle for all things yummy. Plus, it’s a sure-fire way to bag some free treats - and who doesn’t love a free treat?
I visited Greggs at the Gyle Centre in Edinburgh last week and ordered an iced strawberry matcha latte. I absolutely loved it — the flavours were perfectly balanced, not too much milk, not overloaded with ice, and just the right amount of matcha. I genuinely thought it was going to become my new favourite drink.
Unfortunately, my experience today was completely different. I ordered two iced strawberry matcha lattes, and the staff member preparing them barely added any strawberry syrup, filled the cups almost entirely with ice, added far too much milk, and hardly any matcha. Both drinks tasted completely watered down and you could barely taste either the matcha or the strawberry flavour.
To make matters worse, when I asked for a straw, the staff member was dismissive and unfriendly.
Consistency is really important, especially when customers return because they enjoyed something the first time. It would be good if staff were better trained to make drinks to a proper standard. Sadly, after today’s experience, I won’t be coming back.

I visited this greggs this morning 16/1 for my breakfast, the shift manager had her hat on backwards which to me gives a very unprofessional look to the company. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a problem with this staff member

Normally the Greggs here is very good but they need to update their opening hours as they advertise to be open until 19:00 and when I arrived at 18:45, it was very much closed.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
