Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
I had to leave a review after the service I received from Jonas at Greggs because genuinely, it was one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a long time. In a world where people are often rushed, distracted, or just doing the bare minimum, Jonas stood out massively. From the moment I walked in, he was welcoming, friendly, and had such a positive attitude that it instantly improved my day.
Even though the shop was busy, Jonas stayed calm, professional, and incredibly efficient the entire time. He managed everything with ease while still making every customer feel acknowledged and valued. You could tell he wasn’t just trying to get through the shift — he actually cared about giving people a good experience. That kind of attitude is rare and deserves recognition.
What impressed me most was how genuinely kind and approachable he was. He greeted everyone with a smile, spoke politely, and had a great sense of humour that made the whole interaction feel natural and enjoyable. It didn’t feel robotic or forced at all. He made the atmosphere feel welcoming and upbeat, which honestly says a lot about the kind of person he is.
The service itself was excellent too. My order was prepared quickly and perfectly, and Jonas made sure everything was right before handing it over. Even while multitasking and dealing with a constant flow of customers, he stayed attentive and professional throughout. It’s clear he works extremely hard and takes pride in what he does.
People like Jonas are the reason customers come back. He represents Greggs brilliantly and sets the standard for what customer service should be. A good employee can make a huge difference to someone’s day, and Jonas absolutely did that for me and clearly for many others around me as well.
Greggs is lucky to have someone like him on the team. He deserves serious recognition for his effort, attitude, and the positive energy he brings to the workplace. I hope management sees this because outstanding staff members like Jonas should never go unnoticed.
Absolutely 5 stars without hesitation — amazing service, amazing attitude, and an all-around genuinely great person. Thank you, Jonas!

Jídlo hrozné, studené. Je to můj názor, ale to co jsem dostal určitě nemá nic společného s masem.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
