About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Nice tidy little shop, a little difficult getting out of due to the new bypass development but friendly staff and good selection of food 👍

Went in yesterday at 4pm asked for 2 fresh pizzas as the ones sitting there looked cold. The lady working there said they’re fresh and warm as they was made half hour before when we requested fresh ones she said we’re closing in half hour so can’t. We took one and it was cold not even warm the store closes at 6pm shocking service

If you like Greggs bakery shops you'll love this Greggs bakery shop. If you close your eyes you can almost see it - pies to the left of me, patisserie to the right, and here stuck just to the right of centre at the top - two different types of pizza slice. Also, blocking your way to the counter will be boxes of 4 things - today it might be scones, usually doughnuts, but occasionally yumyums. Also probably soup but nobody gets that. Coffee very good also as well as the best priced fresh coffee around.

I won’t be stopping again. Order basically thrown at you and employees have no hospitality skills at all. Is extremely poor service more concerned with talking amongst themselves. Very poor don’t go there. Hunger and Manchester on horizon better option

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
