TGI Fridays in Ashton under Lynne is a dump inside. Service dismal . Food less than average.
Very expensive for less than average standard of food. Never will I go again stay away and spend your money elsewhere.

I'm afraid that our experience mirrors what other recent reviews have pointed out. Last Friday we thought we'd treat our son to TGI's as he's never visited before. We were greeted by a very pleasant gentleman called Josh (who was pretty much the only positive in this visit).
We were seated in the corner and could immediately hear the table next us complaining to staff, this continued throughout their meal until they left.
Ordering our food and drinks was easy, Josh was very friendly. This is where things took a bit of a nose-dive.
The food took an age to arrive (we were in no rush, but that's not the point), when it did arrive it was lukewarm. The starters were average at best: rock hard glazed sesame chicken, cold in the middle potato skins and almost hot mozzarella planks. The mac and cheese side dish we ordered with our main eventually turned out to be the only enjoyable food of the evening, it was the best part of a tenner for 25p worth in ingredients though. We were then informed that there was no chicken left (our sons main meal) but the other two mains were ready to come out?! We reordered for our son and when all the food turned up we ate our two bone-dry chicken burgers and a lukewarm hotdog, thankfully the chips were ok.
Dessert was again substituted due to having no strawberry syrup for the special milkshake (bubblegum?) we ordered and the special chocolate fudge Dessert was also out of stock (we ended up with the normal chocolate fudge cake).
After finishing up we asked for the bill, thanked Josh for his good service and paid the bill (plus a tip on top), which was just shy of £170. I was pretty taken back by that and when I totted it up in my head we had basically paid £20 for three small starters, over £60 for two dreadful burgers and a (not so hot) hotdog, then £30 for two small slithers of cake and milkshake in a flavour we didn't ask for. I also made the mistake of ordering a "pot" of signature glaze that set me back £1.30 for thimble full in a tiny paper sauce cup.
So, to sum up - would I visit TGIs again? Absolutely not.
Would I recommend the branch in Ashton? Absolutely not.
Did we enjoy great American food in a fantastic atmosphere?
No, we really didn't.
So next time I think we'll take our business elsewhere.
I have already filled in and sent back the review request that was emailed to me, but I'm not holding my breath to hear anything from it.

Came in and was seated on a table which was hardly big enough for 4 (there was 7 of us) we was all squished against eachother and it was uncomfortable. The place wasn’t exactly packed either, plenty of tables for all of us. The first lad that served us was shocking and seemed like he didn’t know what he was talking about. The two ladies who brought our drinks out and the bartender were all lovely but made us ask why we were being served by 4 different people?
We ordered steak. Waiter came back and told us there were no steaks, proceeded to look at us expectantly as if we magically knew what else we would want? I asked for a menu back and asked for the pasta, my friends didn’t know what they wanted as it was their first time here, so they of course needed to look at the menu again. The waiter, I kid you not, said: “There was three steaks and I only have two replacement meals.” I’m sorry but it isn’t our fault you don’t have steak in, could we have a moment to look at the menu? 😂
Food came, my partner and friend ordered plain burgers but with the cheese on it still, neither had cheese. Our drinks order was wrong too. The food was all bland and not exactly nice either. Our bill had a 10% service charge which we of course wouldn’t mind paying if it was written anywhere in big letters and not in the small print somewhere where no one would find it. And it’s far too expensive. £30pp , could get more food from the carvery next door for half of that.
TLDR-food was awful, service was awful from 1 person but superb from the rest, order was wrong.

We booked a table for my friend's 40th birthday dinner at TGI Fridays Ashton-under-Lyne, attracted by the website's prominent "Ultimate Cocktail Deal with the Festive Menu" offer. The disappointment began immediately upon arrival when we were told this deal wasn't available. A manager explained we needed a pre-arranged voucher from a sales team—a condition buried in small print, despite the deal being in huge letters on the site and us receiving multiple booking confirmations. It felt very misleading and deceptive.
Things went from disappointing to dreadful with the food. Four of our party of eight ordered the Yuletide Roast Chicken. After ordering, we were told they'd run out and would substitute chicken breasts, which we accepted. When the meals arrived, they were completely inedible. The seasonal vegetables (carrots, broccoli) were literally raw, and the roast potatoes were hard and cold in the centre. All four plates were identical.
The other four meals were acceptable, but for the four of us with the ruined mains, the offer to re-order wasn't ideal. Two did order burgers, and one of those arrived burnt and had to be sent back.
While all the staff were genuinely pleasant and apologetic, and we did receive a discount, this couldn't salvage the evening. Ultimately, it spoiled a special 40th birthday celebration with friends we see once a year. The combination of a misleading offer and shockingly poor, inedible food means we will not be returning.
I would strongly advise anyone considering this location to look for another TGI Fridays or choose a different restaurant entirely. The staff are nice, but the management and kitchen standards let them, and the customers, down completely.
