- LVLENTO VIOLENTOJun 8, 20265.0Went in here yesterday to treat my daughter to her favourite donut, Iost my job recently so I don't have a lot of £, the donut she wanted was sold out, so we opted for the glazed sprinkles ring, Gem asked me if I wanted two, my reply was, I cant, I only have enough for one, she without hesitation bobbed another one in my bag, and said have that one on me, this was an incredible act of kindness, for some it might have only been a donut, but for me, it was more than that, it was an act of kindness that I rarely see, it's the kind of kindness I'm trying to teach my children, with Gem doing this for us, it showed my daughter that a little act of kindness can make someones day, Gem didn't know my circumstances, but she showed me kindness anyway, thank you. 🍩

After checking my account, I could see I had been charged for the full order, so it clearly went through correctly on their system. I’m not from Manchester, but I’ve noticed consistently poor service across several food places I’ve visited here—not just Greggs, but also bubble tea shops and cafés. It’s really disappointing and something that needs serious improvement.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
