Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
Staff absolutely useless. I asked if the sausage rolls were hot and I just get a blank stare followed a few seconds later by some incoherent mumbling. Following this weird interaction I ask for a coffee. Paid for it and it was freezing

The food was great, piping hot and as good as Greggs reputation is! I was served by Abi who was lovely, she was smiley and attentive. Quick and efficient service. No complaints here!

Second time I’ve seen this staff member argue with customers and be rude, she’s called Abi, she argued with customers because she doesn’t listen to peoples orders properly when everyone else hears the customer order, second time this has happened, she huffs and puffs and storms into the back slagging the customer off to colleges in the back for then everyone to stare at the customers. She rolls her eyes, walks off, glares at you trying to be intimidating, she sniggers at other colleagues about customers, customer was an old man other people had to defend him. Will no longer be coming to this store if she works there and also other customers said the same.

Went in here yesterday to treat my daughter to her favourite donut, Iost my job recently so I don't have a lot of £, the donut she wanted was sold out, so we opted for the glazed sprinkles ring, Gem asked me if I wanted two, my reply was, I cant, I only have enough for one, she without hesitation bobbed another one in my bag, and said have that one on me, this was an incredible act of kindness, for some it might have only been a donut, but for me, it was more than that, it was an act of kindness that I rarely see, it's the kind of kindness I'm trying to teach my children, with Gem doing this for us, it showed my daughter that a little act of kindness can make someones day, Gem didn't know my circumstances, but she showed me kindness anyway, thank you. 🍩

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
