About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Tried to get a free coffee with my octopus energy rewards app, lady at the counter scanned it and her response was quite arrogant and said "it's been used, it's still the usual price" so I just walked out empty handed, won't be coming back.

I was feeling really down today, my dad had just passed away due to cancer. To get my mind off things, I went to Greggs. I got two sausage rolls and a donut. It was the best food I have had in a while and it made me feel a lot better. The service was amazing and I greatly appreciate making me feel better after my dad’s passing.

Absolutely disgusting experience. The staff were rude, dismissive, and acted like they didn’t want customers there at all. The shop itself was filthy floors looked dirty, the whole place felt neglected, and there was an awful smell that made it hard to even stay inside. It honestly didn’t feel hygienic or safe, and I left feeling uncomfortable and shocked that a place like this is operating like that. I would not recommend this shop to anyone until they seriously sort out their cleanliness and attitude.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
