Unfortunately this restaurant demonstrated one of the most appalling examples of customer service I have ever experienced. Our party had booked a table for a weekend away ‘team building’, and dinner followed by drinks together was an integral part of it. When we realised we had one extra member in our party we tried to speak to front of house to see if they could squeeze one more eight year old child in. Considering the restaurant was empty (and thus also lacking any ambience whatsoever), we were told a straight ‘no’. Whilst we tried to explain our situation, it was very much a ‘computer says no’ response. Our party of 16 hungry people thus all left the restaurant, and took with us a considerable revenue making opportunity for the venue. Notably when we walked past the venue a few hours later, it once again looked empty. In this current climate when one reads about how restaurants are struggling to survive and cover overheads, it seems farcical that this venue can afford to dismiss a four figure sum whilst their staff sat around with no one to serve.

We recently travelled for a football weekend with a group of friends and family (16 people) and had booked a table at Beefeater Townworth well in advance. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing.
When we arrived, we were told that our booking could not be accommodated because we were over the booking by just one child. The woman we spoke to said they were fully booked. We tried to explain the situation to the manager, including that one of the children was in a wheelchair, but she showed no willingness to help or find a solution. Her attitude came across as cold, dismissive, and completely lacking in understanding.
What made it even more frustrating was that after we had eaten elsewhere and came back past the restaurant, it appeared to be empty, despite being told they were fully booked.
As a result, our evening was ruined, and our group had to split up and find different places to eat separately. It was a very disappointing experience, especially when travelling with family and children.
Because of how we were treated, none of us will be dining at any Beefeater restaurant again.
What a gem this place is! Food was lovely and all for an amazing price! Kids eat free too! We are gluten free and there were loads of things we could have - they also kindly provided us with GF toast. Dave the chef was amazing - proper friendly as were the staff. That’s all you need really - good food, friendly staff & brilliant value!

Staying at the primer inn for 2 nights as went to drayton manor for my sons birthday on the 16th may. We headed back to the beef eater for dinner. On arriving the staff was extremely rude. Saying that my partner was drunk and he wasn't allowed to have a pint. After us saying we had just come back from drayton manor with are children and he certainly was not drunk as he hadn't touched a drink. The lady started shouting saying when I say no It means no. Even other guests was saying he dosent look drunk and couldn't understand the problem but the lady kept shouting and waving her hands around. So seems to me they pick and choose who they would like in there ! We left and went else where. No need for that kind off discrimination !
