  Visited on 14th August around 4pm ish I hope when it re opens that their standard of food improves.. we had a burger.. for £18 One would think that a burger for £18 would come with coleslaw and onion rings, but no our picture in question is just below an average burger and skin on fries.. I would of ATLEAST expected a bit of garnish or some form green... Hey ho we need a bit umpth to invite us back I'm afraid... Meat itself was ok but honestly could of done better at home. Sorry 😐

  Four cheese pizza only one cheese overpowered it all and it tasted like a damp cellar, no tomato on the base, not good . Men’s toilets hand driers got a swamp living at the bottom absolutely disgusting refused to dry my hands in that cesspit.

  We visited for a family meal and unfortunately came away very disappointed. When we arrived, we were initially shown to a room where the roof was leaking and were then offered a nearby table. We asked if we could sit outside in one of the pods instead, which the staff were happy to accommodate. Unfortunately, things didn’t really improve from there. We had to order at the bar, where there was an enormous queue of probably 50+ people, and when our food eventually arrived the chips were extremely hard and tasted as though they had been sitting around for some time. The table was also greasy and didn’t appear to have been properly cleaned. I mentioned the chips to a member of staff, who was very polite and apologetic and said she would speak to the chef. In fairness, all of the young staff we dealt with were pleasant and clearly trying their best. The biggest issue seemed to be a complete lack of experienced management or anyone visibly in charge. The staff appeared very young and were seemingly being left to deal with a very busy pub without enough support or direction. I don’t particularly enjoy leaving negative reviews, especially when the staff themselves were nice, but the whole experience from arrival to leaving was thoroughly disappointing. Hopefully this was simply a bad evening, but based on our visit there are some fairly basic things that need addressing.

  We had a great dinning experience here before but not this time. There were no other people in the resturant and we were seated under the music speaker. We found it hard to talk or to hear the waitress. We only got 1 menu so missed out on Sunday lunch. We thought it was because of Bank holiday they were serving a limited menu. Our gift voucher did not work so we felt stressed and disappointed . Not sure we will visit again after despite the waitress helping us sort out the voucher . Thankyou for that and your kindness.

  Myself and my husband went for Sunday lunch for our Wedding Anniversary recently. The food wasn’t good!!! The roast potatoes were not roasted!!! They were boiled in the skins and looked like they had been put under a grill for a couple of minutes!!! My husband had the roast beef, he said was ok but was not up to the standard he had, had before at the pub. The cauliflower cheese which was an extra cost had not got much cheese sauce. It just had cheese grated over the cauliflower which looked like it had been put under a grill. I had the belly pork which was ok. For the money we paid for the food we expected better quality. We have been to Meynell on other occasions and have had excellent food!!! Was very disappointed with the food!!! We will not be rushing back!!
