- CLC LMar 9, 20261.0Very disappointing experience at the Esquires Boxgrove today. When we placed our order for two waffle dishes, the chef initially came out to say they had run out of strawberries and offered raspberries instead, which we agreed to. After waiting around 30 minutes, she returned with our waffles and then mentioned she had actually found some strawberries at the last moment. Unfortunately, the waffles were extremely disappointing. The strawberries were very soft, cut into tiny pieces, and served warm, which was completely different from what is shown in the promotional photos (fresh strawberries, very misleading advertising). It certainly wasn’t what we expected when ordering. My two daughters barely touched the waffles because the fruit looked and tasted unappetising. I raised the issue with the staff at the time. While they apologised, when I asked for a refund I was told the manager wasn’t present and that I would have to send an email instead to customer service esquiresguildford! Overall, both the quality of the food and the way the situation was handled were very poor. Given the clear difference between the advertised dish and what was actually served, the waffles should not have been served in that condition. Very disappointing experience.

Arrived at 4pm and staff made me clearly feel they would prefer to have closed already. And also Started opening the door wide open whilst tidying at 4pm40! Freezing cold. So please either change closing time or stay welcoming and keep same service level till the end!
