  This was an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience. I ordered a medium-well sirloin steak, but what I was served was very well done—completely dry, tough and rubbery, with absolutely no flavour. I tried it, as anyone would, to see whether it was actually as bad as it looked. When I asked the lady if it could be replaced, she refused, saying that I had already eaten from it. Of course I had to try the steak before knowing that it was completely overcooked! I then asked if they could replace it with a smaller piece, equivalent to what was left on my plate. Again, I was told no, because they apparently “cannot cook a smaller piece.” So instead of enjoying a nice family meal, I ended up paying for a piece of rubber that I couldn’t eat. What makes this even more frustrating is not simply that the steak was badly cooked—mistakes happen. It’s the complete lack of willingness to resolve the problem. I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable; I simply wanted the meal I had ordered and expected to receive. We went out as a family to have a nice meal and left feeling extremely disappointed. Poor food is one thing, but poor customer service and refusing to make a reasonable effort to fix the problem is what really ruined the experience. Definitely not what I expected, and unfortunately an experience I won’t be forgetting.

  Just had our last lunch at The Cricketers as it is being closed down. It was excellent as usual We've been here several times over the last three years since moving to Lightwater, we will miss the restaurant a lot Food has always been good, staff are very efficient and friendly. We wish the staff all the best for their future careers.

  Lovely birthday breakfast here today for my daughter. Plenty of choice and the price is brilliant. Very much enjoyed our food and Sarah who looked after us was great, very efficient and friendly. The restaurant was spotless too.

  Can't believe how filthy this place is, disgusting toilets, had poo around top of toilet and sinks were dirty. Everything covered in dirt and dust, unfriendly and just unwelcoming. Stopped off for breakfast but left without eating as when we looked around it was totally unacceptable, very unhygienic, the whole place needs a clean and updating, avoid!!!!

  I stayed at premier inn and had breakfast. The chef can give scrambled or fried eggs no poached / boiled eggs. 🤔lazy? Or just not capable? I wonder.
