  I was shopping at Aldi, where I had just bought flowers and I put them in my bag. I browsed around the Co-op store for a few minutes but didn’t buy anything because this store is always dirty and unpleasant. After leaving the store, a few metres down the street, a man stopped me and demanded to search my bag. I asked who he was to look through my personal belongings. He said he was a Co-op security guard and claimed he had “all rights” to check my bag. He was rude, errogant, and publicly accused me of stealing, despite having absolutely no evidence. The store security alarms never sounded when I exited because I had not taken anything from the store. Nevertheless, he chose to confront and humiliate me in the street, in front of other people, causing unnecessary embarrassment and distress. I eventually showed him the flowers and my Aldi receipt, proving they were my own purchases. Instead of apologising for falsely accusing and humiliating me, he simply walked away. Message to the store manager: your staff, especially security personnel, urgently need proper training in professionalism, customer service, and basic respect toward customers. No customer should ever be publicly humiliated and falsely accused in this way. I will not be returning to this store. No one deserves to be treated like a criminal for simply walking out of a shop without buying anything.
