A decent sized Co-op; look out for the reduced section and offers otherwise you will be paying a premium on everyday essentials. Download the app for more bargains. And I guess if you live there it's convenient!

If the managers took Debbie the rudest, worst customer service person ever off the tills reviews might change. I think the majority of customers have experienced her under handed huffs and awful tone at one time or another. She's upset my autistic son who whislt queueing was behind a man with hearing aids and she was shouting at him. Today she tried charging my card the full price when I had handed her £20 cash to which i received her usual snare and huffs. Either the fact co op makes a fortune out of many vulnerable groups who rely on it's over priced stock or they just dont care about service. Either way shop online or visit another town.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but after the way my friends and I have been treated, I feel like I have to.
The atmosphere in this Co-op can be surprisingly unpleasant. A few members of staff seem to act as though customers are an inconvenience rather than the reason the shop exists. Simple interactions often come across as rude, dismissive, or unnecessarily confrontational.
One experience that really stood out involved my friend accidentally knocking over a display box of protein bars. It was a genuine accident, and he immediately tried to sort it out. Instead of being treated with a bit of understanding, staff became noticeably irritated and made the situation far more awkward than it needed to be. Most people understand that accidents happen, but apparently that level of patience is in short supply here.
There have also been multiple occasions where staff attitudes have felt unnecessarily hostile. Rather than offering basic customer service, some employees seem determined to make customers feel unwelcome. It’s genuinely impressive how much tension can be created over such small issues.
And yes, before anyone starts acting as though a customer accidentally having a nosebleed is some kind of criminal offence, it really isn’t. Accidents happen. Most businesses manage to deal with them professionally and move on.
Overall, the shop itself is fine, but customer service can leave a lot to be desired. A little more patience, politeness, and professionalism would go a long way. Until then, there are plenty of other places I’d rather spend my money.
