Staff working very hard and credit to the company and especially in this heat with no air conditioning
Poor service here. Turned up for a roast and was told they'd stopped serving. It was 3pm. The food spread was still there.
After we had ordered other food, not what we wantwd, people who had arrived after us and were helping themselves to the roast. We raised this and the waiter apologised, admitting it was still available when we arrived, but when we asked that's what we'd like, were advised they had run out. It was a circus experience. Again, lack of staff and experience here. Otherwise the food is ok.
Visited on 13th & 14th June 2026 whilst staying at the Premier Inn next door.
Absolutely appalling experience from start to finish.
Upon checking into the Premier Inn, we were advised to book dinner at Brewers Fayre. As a group of 27 people, including several children, we walked into the restaurant to arrange our booking and were immediately met with a negative attitude from the lady on reception. We were bluntly told that the chef was refusing to cook for a group of 27 people. What she didn’t realise was that one of our group had already successfully booked the table online, making her excuse completely pointless.
From that moment on, it felt as though we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. There were petty whispers between staff, long waiting times, and when the food eventually arrived, much of it was burnt, stale and well below the standard expected.
Breakfast on the morning of 14th June was no better. Despite the restaurant being largely empty, staff appeared determined to split our group up wherever possible rather than accommodate us together. The manager then questioned the number of children in our party, which was completely unnecessary and came across as rude and unwelcoming.
The high chairs provided were dirty and unpleasant, the atmosphere throughout was uncomfortable, and customer service was poor from start to finish.
The biggest issue was the attitude of the lady working the evening shift. I’ve rarely encountered someone so dismissive, unhelpful and unwilling to assist customers. Rather than trying to find solutions, she seemed more interested in creating problems.
We spent a significant amount of money with your business and were made to feel unwelcome from the moment we arrived. The attitude of certain staff members completely overshadowed the experience and ultimately ruined what should have been an enjoyable meal with family and friends.
Without doubt, one of the poorest customer service experiences we’ve had in a long time.

4 June 2026. The excellent impression gained from the Inn itself was ruined by this morning’s breakfast at the Brewer's Fayre. The bacon was stone-cold, the tomatoes had a strange flavour, the black pudding was completely inedible (over-cooked to cremation point) and the sausages were anaemic and luke warm. Eggs and mushrooms were fine but I left on my plare far more than I ate. Overall, very substandard,. and one of the worst breakfasts I have even eaten. To make matters worse, a family group’s two children seemed to think they were at home - extremely noisy and out-of-control, running around everywhere. Of course, it's up to parents to control their kids when out in public but, when they fail to bother to do so, I expect your manager or senior staff to take appropriate action, in the interests of all your other paying customers!

Mediocre all round really. Asides from one staff member on by 5 visits, the rest seemed disinterested and would ignore people waiting at the door. None of the beers on tap were available the days I was there
Buffett breakfast supposed to be ready for 7am, twice it was closer to 7:15 - not the end of the world but as I had to be on route somewhere at 7:45 it meant it was a bit rushed. Thankfully the second day it wasn’t as critical.
Breakfast on the first day was nice but second and third was lacking. The chefs pile the freshly cooked food on top of the stuff that’s been sitting there rather than rotating properly.
All in all the food quality was okay - it’s a convenient place to eat when staying at the Premier Inn but not somewhere I’d go by choice in other circumstances.
Better service and quality are needed so it’s a 3/5 overall mark.
