Service was brilliant and friendly and the food was amazing. High end "pub grub" but at competitive prices. 100% recommended and we will be coming back very soon!

The food melted in your mouth, lit my tastebuds on fire and represented being made with love. The chef has a serious talent and I was honoured to savour his food tonight. The front staff, Luke, was friendly, funny, welcoming and genuinely caring. He made us feel like friends popping in for a chat. Overall, what an amazing experience. We have definitely been recruited as their new regulars. Thank you for such a marvellous experience.
- HWHot WizardMay 27, 20261.0Came here for lunch over the bank holiday and despite having a very small sun trap garden, there was only one other group in the pub. Bloody dead, but not surprised. We waited what felt like forever for our food to arrive. We ordered two fish and chips, scampi, and the dirty burger. The chips tasted stale, like they’d been sitting around for hours. The fish, though, was shocking. I genuinely question whether the chef has any pride, or even eyesight. The portions were tiny, the fish was completely drenched in oil, and instead of proper fillets it looked like broken scraps smashed into bits. We sent both fish dishes back immediately and, to be fair, we did receive a full refund. But that left two people eating while the other two just sat there watching. Would not recommend.
- MCmike conwayMay 26, 20265.0Excellent! What a night. The kitchen had an unavoidable malfunction with the oven/grill/hob. (I think I’m right in saying it will be rectified the next day.) On arrival a small bbq for the staff was taking place. We were welcomed and joined in . I’m an Ale drinker the Butcombe Original was on point! My partner and I stayed in our van prompted by “Stay for free” app. We will be returning and having a meal in the restaurant, even though the car Park disposable BBQ on a cracking warm night was great, being made welcome and included I would urge everyone to support a fantastic Pub and it’s staff. Keep an eye on events coming up in the future! Mike and Debbie
