Our pub is a real hidden gem, the perfect place to sit back, enjoy light bites and relax with your favourite drink in hand. Our unique town is a popular as a film location, most notably for ITV's Broadchurch, Never Let Me Go starring Keira Knightley and the band One Direction even filmed a video to “You and I” on the famous Victorian pier!

It’s a welcoming place where friends gather at any time of the week to sample the well looked after ales, soft drink options and a decent range of wines and spirits too. The food is always of the highest quality and the new evening pizza and wings options were a real winner during this Summer’s World Cup. There are cocktail options and a range of other deals available to those looking for something a little different to what is available on tap. Regular fixtures such as the very popular Open Mic run Monthly by Jim still continues to attract the best in local talent. There is a weekly pub quiz and sports events are also well accommodated across the range of screens. TVs are positioned conveniently so that everyone interested can observe the action, but the volume managed so that there are quieter areas in the pub for those who just want to catch up over a drink or two. There is also the snug for darts and board games if that takes your fancy. Julie and the team do a fabulous job to make the Oak a welcoming place for a range of occasions, tastes and characters to mingle, including their furry friends. Look out for special events such as Rum and Reggae, Amplify, Halloween and Festive events where fancy dress and other arts/craft entries are enthusiastically encouraged to add an extra level of special to the community atmosphere.
