Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.
I visited today the 4th August at 7:30 for breakfast with my husband. Despite being busy the lady and young girl behind the till were very friendly and welcoming. our breakfast was lovely and hot and the coffee was great. We had trouble opening the app they told us if we put our phone on aeroplane mode it would load quicker which it did. The only reason we gave it an overall 3 star is because we witnessed the grey haired lady out the back making sandwiches sneeze into her hand and then continue making them without washing her hands. She also appeared to be eating bits as she went along. Apart from that everything was clean and tidy we will definitely be back for breakfast.

I have now visited this new Greggs 3 times and everytime the staff were so rude! Terrible customer service from young girls that are more interested in gossiping with each other, with No manners. The last time I went in the girl just said the price and walked away whilst I payed with my card on the card machine. I won't be going again, such a disappointment to have a Greggs close to home with rude staff, cold steak bakes everytime and fridges never stocked.

Everytime I got to buy the deal of 4 chicken rolls, they never have more than 2. You have to wait half hour to cook them. Every other Greggs manages fine, these guys really struggle.
Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.
What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
