Really disappointed with the new store since the refit. As well as being smaller and less products being available, what I really dislike is having no checkouts open in the evening. We're expected to use the self-service which I really struggle with. I had to have an assistant help me 5 or 6 times on one occasion and I was really stressed and upset. Would have been quicker to just put my basket of items through the till. Why not have a bell on the till area so if someone wants to be served at the checkout they can ring the bell and request it. There are usually 3 or 4 staff around stacking shelves.
Also, visited the other day and really needed cash from the ATM but it was out of use. In the old store I could have asked for cashback at the checkout, but can't do that with self-service. So I have to walk back another day and hope the ATM is working again. I have Aspergers and shop in the evenings when it's very quiet as I can't cope with too many people. These changes have really made my experience worse. My main shopping I get delivered from another supermarket, thankfully. But this Co-op is good for topping up in between deliveries as it's closest to my home. The staff are lovely though, and very helpful. Just don't like the new changes.

What a claustrophobic experience since the refit, and now I am expected to do somebody's job with a plethora of self checkout tills. Less likely to return than I was before.

Awful new layout for this redesigned store, which is now cramped and claustrophobic to walk around. There is also a very minimal selection of groceries.
Husband uses his wheelchair and unable to get past other shoppers because the isles are so close together and have stacked alcohol at the end of the isles.
Parkway co-op is not great either but they have made the best use of space where they can. This Redgate Co-Op store has been purposefully designed this way, having been scaled down from a mid-sized store to a much smaller one.
It’s shocking that Co-Op have purposefully designed the store this way. It’s awful for wheelchair users to get around.
