Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

An okay store. Reliable product and prices, very fast service, but the staff were very loud and rude to customers. I am happy with the product, but the service does not make me want to return given the amount of bakeries in the area.

I came in here on Sunday with my autistic child and he asked an old woman behind the till "excuse me, are the sausage rolls really hot?" She looked a little confused. He clarified and said he means fresh... Before he could finish saying freshly out of the oven she replied in an irritated tone "all our food is fresh". He immediately closed up and didn't feel comfortable anymore. I took over and said "he means really hot, like lava" she said they have been out for a few minutes but they're hot enough. I asked when the next batch will be going in or coming out. She was not impressed by all these questions (questions we have asked other staff at other Greggs locations and they're always friendly and provide excellent customer service) and she said in a really annoyed tone that they aren't going to put more in because they still have some out. So we said "ok, thanks anyway" and left. My son told me he doesn't want to go back there again and I told him I agree. Some people don't know how to listen without interrupting and can't give good customer service.
We were there with a big group of people that day (136+ in total as it was an event) we have been sure to tell them how our interaction went there.

Highly disappointed following a very unpleasant experience at your stockport warren street store today.
I visited to purchase a slice of pepperoni pizza and a mint latte. Firstly, the staff member on the till served me without basic courtesy—no “please” or “thank you,” which I found unprofessional.
While standing at the sugar station, I briefly took a call on my phone, which was an important work call, and had a small bite of my pizza. During this time, a staff member shouted at me from behind the till, insisting that I could not eat inside the store. His tone was rude and aggressive, which left me mortified.
I chose not to respond and left the store immediately, but I feel this treatment was completely unacceptable and does not reflect the standards I expect from Greggs.
I would appreciate an explanation of this incident and what measures will be taken to ensure staff treat customers with courtesy in the future.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
