Went into Domino's Gatley for a plant-based pizza. Told they can't take speciality orders at the counter and I "had to order online". I was standing right in front of them, ready to pay.
Spent 10 minutes on the website in the shop. The plant-based medium showed £22. Staff then found it under "Offers" for £12. Same pizza, £10 difference, and no explanation. The £2.99 personal pizza in the window? "Deal ended at 4pm", so £4.
Then I heard staff say in Hindi, "uncle wants discount." I didn't. I wanted fair, open pricing.
Why do vegan and gluten-free customers pay far more than the advertised £8.99 medium? Anyone over sixty who isn't comfortable with apps is going to get fleeced, and I'm one of them. Domino's HQ, explain yourselves.

Title: Hidden pricing and a pointless order-online-only rule
I visited the Gatley branch wanting a plant-based pizza. I was told speciality pizzas can't be ordered at the counter and that I "had to order online" because of a disclosure/disclaimer statement. I was standing in front of staff, ready to pay, and was still sent to the website.
I spent about 10 minutes navigating the site in the shop. The plant-based medium showed at £22. Staff then guided me to the "Offers" section, where the identical pizza was £12. Nobody could explain the £10 difference. Another 5 minutes went on the basket and payment screens.
I then asked for the £2.99 personal pizza advertised in the window. I was told I'd missed the deal, which ended at 4pm, and it cost £4 instead.
To cap it off, a staff member said to a colleague in Hindi, "uncle wants discount." I wasn't asking for a discount. I was asking for fair, transparent pricing.
Standard mediums are advertised at £8.99, so why are vegan and gluten-free customers penalised with far higher prices unless they find the right menu? A system this hard to navigate hurts older customers most. Anyone over sixty who isn't comfortable with apps and websites is going to get fleeced, and I'm one of them.
I'd like Domino's HQ to explain the pricing gap and why counter orders aren't possible.
