A welcoming retreat in the heart of Ludlow, The Blue Boar is an authentically and sensitively restored Grade II listed pub on Mill Street, just moments from the Castle, Market Square, and theatre.
Good food ,plenty of seating inside ,lovely courtyard garden 😀

We were spoilt for choice in Ludlow for places to eat and after a bit of wandering around, we decided on the Blue Boar, and boy did we make the perfect choice.
Lovely welcome when we arrived and seated straight away in a nice room with a fireplace, watched over by a portrait of Henry VIII.
Plenty of beer and lager choices, and a good selection of wines and spirits. A really good food menu too.
It was really busy, always a good sign, and the lady looking after us explained there would be a wait. Not a problem, good food is always worth waiting for.
We both went for the lunch menu fish and chips. £13 per person including a drink, which is fantastic value.
The food was first class. I’m fussy with battered fish, and I couldn’t fault it. Lovely and crispy, decent chips and a nicely spiced curry sauce. Perfect!
The two ladies were working so hard to get everyone seated and served, but they took it all in their stride, made time to chat with people, and really made us feel valued and very welcome. The dog got spoilt with lots of attention and treats.
We’re planning our next holiday in the area for later in summer, and we’ll definitely be calling in here again.
Thank you for a great afternoon.

Wednesday's Supper Club menu excellent. A shame I ha to ask for it rather than have it offered. Good value

Blimey, this was very enjoyable.
A couple of very small tweaks and this could be the best place I've eaten this year.
Had the Salmon which was nicely seasoned. However, the Cornish Sole was a true delight. Buttery, succulent and tasty.
Bit of a negative on the sticky toffee pudding. The pudding itself was top class, but why ruin it with chocolate ice cream. I love innovation, but this ruined it for me. Stick to tradition with such an iconic dish please, would be my wish.
The staff were delightful. If we lived locally, this would definitely be our go-to.
