About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Staff are miserable, went in after attending a little family group at the central link for some lunch. Staff looked like they couldn't be bothered, no smiles, looked like they didn't want to be there (I get it, ive worked in hospitality myself and I'd feel the same) but at least try and look a little happy. Every ask or question from other customers to the staff and it was a huff and a roll of the eyes in response, just doesn't make you feel very welcome and as if you're a hinderence to them.

Nipped in today 30/04/26 and a lovely guy served me, i asked for a caramel ice latte and he explained he is fairly new and had only been there 10 days so i think it was the first one he had made, i told him to take his time as there was no rush! and it was amazing, really good customer service 😊

Horrible service today from tall, pale women who was obnoxious and they way she talked to customers and delivery drivers was awful. I recorded this and will be raising formal complaint also contact local media as this is believed to be on racial discrimination bases. The company should be ashamed to hire such as individuals. AVOID

Very very rude staff who do not listen to what people are ordering and miss out food items from order. Lady forgot to add sausage roll onto meal deal order so got charged extra for it. Wedges left out in heater for too long so were dry and rock hard. Slow and unfriendly service will not be returning

Asked for butter, 1 pence worth of butter just to give an idea of how little butter was put in🤷‍♀️used to be good , train staff to put butter on bread properly 🤷‍♀️not one pence size on one side of the bread, lost a few customers here that used this shop for over 20 years good luck 🤷‍♀️

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
