About

BakeryGreggs
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Always cold and greasy. And today my "freshly made" sandwich was stale

This branch of greggs is the worst I have been too. Tried several times and every time there is some kind of issue from no sausage rolls to scanners not working and then today completely closed. The times it has been open it's been pretty dirty throughout every time I have been in there. Very very poor and I will not go there again.

It’s a pretty standard roadside Greggs, got a few doughnuts and went on the way, there’s a decent amount of parking.

This greggs is located next to the a14 BP service station on the westbound side. It was well stocked up when I visited. It had all the frsh sandwich amd rolls out. There was also hot food bites available and well as the normal breakfast menu. It is a little bit more expensive than your normal greggs but you have to remember it's attached to a service station and its convenience that you pay for. Staff are efficient and polite.

Very poor customer service. I asked if the cheese and onion bake was warm, and when I was told it wasn't, I politely asked if they could put some fresh ones in. The staff member refused with a rude, arrogant attitude, saying, "I've still got a few left, so I'm not putting any more in. Take these cold ones or leave it." It's not the refusal that annoyed me—it's the way I was spoken to. Completely unprofessional and not what I'd expect from Greggs. I won't be returning to this branch.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
