Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Greggs is exactly what it sets out to be: a convenient, affordable choice for breakfast or lunch. It knows its place in the market and doesn't try to be something it isn't, which is part of its appeal.
The staff at my local branch are always welcoming and friendly, helping to make each visit a pleasant experience. The restaurant itself is generally clean, well-stocked, and well maintained. Unless you arrive during a particularly busy period, there is usually plenty of seating available for those who want to eat on site rather than take their food away.
The menu offers a good range of familiar favourites, and service is typically quick and efficient. While it isn't fine dining, that's never been the point. For a reliable, convenient lunch stop with friendly service and good value for money, Greggs does the job very well.

Always busy because of location , builders etc always wanting a quick snack so ideal for these people ,also ideal if you want to sit outside as wooden benches ,lots of food choices hot and cold ,they are doing a prawn pasta which is new for the summer very refreshing and ideal if you want a refreshing snack, I also like their two boiled eggs in a tub make sure you take your own sachet of pepper and salt as they don’t supply them, difficult to park but plenty of room round estate so no problem,

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
Why do you have different prices regionally?
It is very common for retailers to have regional prices. This is because the costs of running a business can vary across different parts of the country and in certain locations, for example rent costs. We always keep our prices as low as possible for our customers.
