  I nearly didn't go based on the reviews but I had a voucher and wasn't going to waste it. The staff were helpful and efficient, which was a in contrast to the other reviews. The food was as I've had in other Beefeaters and was nice. So, either it's down to the staff or people are expecting silver service at Beefeater. I'd happily go again.

  Staying at nearby PI. This place is one of the worst establishments in the Whitbread group. Staff totally uninterested to the point of ignorance. Food poor. Definitely our last visit.

  Building looking a bit tired, staff must be disheartened by news of impending closure because of big business decisions made far away.

  I made a reservation for dinner with my wife for our wedding anniversary, and after receiving confirmation, I drove for about an hour to arrive, only to find there was no reservation. The person who answered made no effort to resolve the situation. They simply said that if I wanted, I could eat at the bar or wait an hour and a half. Strangely, after showing the reservation confirmation, I received an email cancelling the reservation a minute later. The friendliness and smiles of both the restaurant and bar staff left much to be desired. It may smple have been bad luck, but it will not be my choice for any further celebrations.
