Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I have been coming here most Mondays to Wednesday after dropping my husband off to work in the mornings and going to work myself after. I will then come to Greggs to get a sausage and omelette roll. I always get 3 sausages in there but I’ve only been given 2 sausages today. I’ve only noticed it after taking a few bites in as I will normally get to the sausage quickly and felt it was different than usual. The man over the counter doesn’t seem to want to take my order and I can strongly feel it yesterday and today when he was taking my orders. The services were very good when the lady that works there most mornings and the teenagers/young adults were working there the past few months during the summer holidays, but when it was him serving, I can strongly feel the difference in attitude. I don’t normally write reviews unless if I was treated unfairly just because I am a woman/ other ethnicity. Food was good as usual but I feel that not all but some attitude needs improvement.
Update:
Went to get the sausage and omelette roll today. Got the same with 2 sausages. I then doubled checked with the staff and she confirmed it was 2 on their instructions menu. So I must say I have been lucky to get 3 the whole time when I came here and went to other Greggs to get sausage and omelette roll. Nothing to complain about the sausage and omelette roll as it has been clarified.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
