  Just had a lovely meal with my husband and grandson. Food choices were great. Service quick and friendly . My fussy husbands requests were dealt with. At last we have a pub in Bramford that is a pleasure to visit.

  The cock looks amazing …food is delicious 😋 we had a steak sandwich and it was so tasty …then I had my birthday celebration there and they did a buffet ..and it was amazing..well presented…and tomorrow we’re going for a Sunday roast …

  I have lived in Bramford since 1974 when we first married and always want our local pub to do well. I lost my wife two years ago and last Thursday a group of five friends joined me to remember my late wife on would have been her 75th birthday. I have to say I left very disappointed. I booked for 7pm and although two friends did not arrive till 7.20 we were not spoken to until 7.40 when I had to ask if we could order drinks. When the food came two of us had ordered steak and ale pie which was really hard and very difficult to cut. The presentation was poor and the vegetables shall in quantity. The gravy jug came to the table with no gravy in it. The other four meals were acceptable. We were never asked if everything was ok. When the plates were taken away we were not asked if we wanted a desert and after waiting quite a while I had to ask for an order to be taken. The deserts were fine. This is the first time I have ever complained about a meal ever and if it had not been in my village I would not have said anything but not returned. I do however want the Cock to be successful and hope these comments will enable changes to take place. I do not the two girls serving to be criticised as the main problem was that there was not enough staff. I do intend to return and want above anything for Bramford Cock to be successful.

  We had a meal for my Mums birthday tonight. We have pre booked the table for 8 people. The quality of the food was good overall but the presentation was quite poor. The dessert portions were tiny and were not worth the money. Main courses were of a much better standard. It was my Mums birthday and she ordered mixed grill which they did not have ( there were no steaks at all), there was also no Halloumi or lamb or salmon ( salad was offered with sea bass which my niece did not like) and no cheesecake from the dessert menu (which she also tried to order) For a Tuesday evening this was quite disappointing. The waitress really did try hard and was very polite and helpful. She did not have any knowledge of which beers were available , but she did go and ask her colleague , he was more knowledgeable. The waitress also struggled taking our drinks orders and getting them correct, but again we could really see that she was trying. My Dad ordered 3 starters rather than a main , he ordered 5 chicken strips and only received 3, the waitress said that two more would come out but they never did. Drinks were okay and beer was good quality on draught. The decor and environment is nice and much improved. Our bill was £200 but unfortunately we were a little disappointed with our experience as a whole. There a just a few things that need tweaking.

  Sadly first visit and although kids had a nice time playing, 3 out of 6 meals had items missing from the meal which we reported twice, no action taken, no missing items provided and no apology when we informed the 2 staff. The staff team which seemed large, but mainly extremely young, just did not seem to have any experience and did not complete tasks they offered to do like provide child's menu, provide enough sets of cutlery etc. We visited due to the extensive menus on their website including pizza & buffet menus but apparently none of these really exist and some staff seemed surprised they were advertised. I think the business has just had a relaunch/ re-open and if this is the case, the website needs to be corrected urgently or there could be many dissapointed customers. A mature guy did collect our plates and we asked if he had been informed about the incomplete meals which he said he hadn't, and offered a drink, but this was about an hour after our meals,we had already purchased many drinks throughout our time there and what we really wanted was the full meals they advertised and we paid for. We were planning on desserts but due to the team attitudes and likelihood we wouldnt get what we paid for decided against this. Won't visit again but it's sad if this business is in it's early days, some of the staff have a 'couldn't care less' attitude already! I know people make mistakes, it was a very hot day, but you at least apologise and right your mistake.
