Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Today my little boy who suffers with reflux, was sick in a high chair. We thoroughly cleaned it but when I told a staff member that I had cleaned it but it needed an anti bacterial clean, she looked at me in utter disgust and told me to shove it in the corner. She did come and collect it but honestly her face was like thunder.
A smile and a bit of understanding costs nothing especially when it comes to food and cleanliness.

don’t get me wrong, the food was genuinely nice but the customer service made me feel uncomfortable, the person with red hair at the counter was just yelling and didn’t really make me feel welcome. and as a person of colour, i feel like she was just being disrespectful towards me because when i heard her tone to the other customers it was much more calm and respectful, i feel racially targeted. she also forgot to give me my yum yum, and i had to remind her that she forgot it. NOT HAPPY!!!! will not be coming baco

The food was nice , but the customer service was horrendous and made me feel like unwelcome. However , food was good however there was no need for her disrespect in her tone, speech and target of words.

The food was great and I was served by a lovely, kind older lady. However, the experience was overshadowed by a very rude manager (blonde lady at around 11.24 31/03) who came over and publicly reprimanded her while she was serving me.
Whatever mistake she may have made, there was no need to address it in such a harsh and public manner. It felt extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness.

What happens to your leftover food?
We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection. To find out more or nominate an organisation visit: https://www.greggsfoundation.org.uk/unsold-food-donations.
