We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.

I didn't actually buy anything from Greggs but am concerned that the Greggs brand is sharing these toilet facilities as they were hideous, very smelly, dreadful staining and the whole room just felt a bit murky. Nothing that a concentrated half an our wouldn't sort out but desperately needed. I'm certainly glad I didn't have my grandchildren with me and we may have needed to use the baby changing facilities. Perhaps some joint working with the garage is needed as these are not in a good state

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
