Today I popped into Ford Service Station with my mum to pick up some whisky and coke. We were served by a lovely young lady who, despite clearly being new, did her best with a smile and efficiency. Unfortunately, the card machine wasn’t working properly for contactless payments and that’s when the experience went downhill.
A manager (I believe her name is Sue) approached, but instead of being helpful, she carried herself with a dismissive and aggressive attitude, as if the technical fault was our problem. My mum tried to pay again by inserting her card, which also failed. I then offered to use my card on my phone, but was abruptly told—in an unnecessarily harsh tone—that unless I had the physical card, I couldn’t pay. She even went as far as to start taking away the items rather than finding a solution.
I suggested she simply process the payment at another till where I had just seen other customers paying successfully. Rather than assisting, she muttered comments under her breath and stared at us in a manner that felt openly hostile. At that point, I told her directly that she was being rude, unprofessional, and not setting an example fit for a manager.
This was the first time I’d seen her on the shop floor, despite being a regular shopper. All the other staff are consistently polite and helpful, which makes her behaviour stand out even more. Sadly, it also explains the high staff turnover I’ve noticed there.
I sincerely hope the owners or Nisa review her conduct, as she does a disservice not only to the business but to the hard-working team around her. A manager should lead with professionalism, not aggression.

Needed milk desperately, but couldn't get away due to visitors so got to the garage shop at 3 mins to 10pm.....they'd closed the tills and so we're basically 'closed'!! .....so wrong.
If the closing times are 10pm, then the tills and staff should be open and working right up until 10pm.
All shops staff should expect to work before and after the Shop times......I've done it to provide a good service.
So bad. So rude to go out at that time and not get the service promised.
Very disappointing indeed.
