  Was recommended to us by a landlady in Welshpool. Stopped in Newtown on the way to the seaside and glad with popped into this pub. Great prices and very nice looking pub.

  Proper nice pub, really nice people, wonderful atmosphere and good beer. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good drink and a good talk Anthony's always nice and welcoming, always brightens the place up!

  As a long standing regular the service has always been fantastic. Disabled access, family oriented great bar staff. Multiple screens for different sports and music options available. Lively, friendly atmosphere and overall a welcoming place to spend time.

  Absolutely superb customer service! Always a personable experience from The Lion. The banter is second to none. Great variety of sports viewing available and requests are always taken into consideration. Conscientious about cleanliness and an awesome family atmosphere! Lots of entertainment on offer for all! Music played and availability to select your own music. Highly recommend!

  We had such a lovely visit, and I wanted to give a special mention to Ceri From the moment we arrived, she made us feel so welcome with her warm smile and friendly personality. Nothing was too much trouble, and her service was absolutely outstanding. She was attentive, professional, and genuinely cared that we had a great experience. It's staff like Ceri who make people want to come back again and again. She is a real credit to the pub, and I hope her hard work is recognised. Thank you, Ceri, for making our visit so enjoyable. We can't wait to return
