About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I will say, the food is awesome but, like their rival Costa, their food is terrible for any diabetic. The amount of carbs and the glycemic index oh my gosh! But the sausage rolls and baps are still worth the wait and insulin. Service - I won't sugar coat it, H O R R I F I C. They are getting better but they are still slow. I once asked for 3, and the guy said, 3 times "get 4 for the Price of 3 though" And my Autism nearly escaped but I managed to say "No" in a forcefull, yet quiet voice. The atmosphere is basically just a normal Greggs, only difference is toilets and sit-in area. The noice and acoustics in there is horrible, even if there's a few people (which is impossible) I still can't hear ANYTHING! OVERALL, worse than the old Greggs.

I did not have a nice experience this morning, what is it with people in Brecon thinking they are so entitled. Go in to get my lunch in the morning so I don’t have to pop out again and I’m visibly tired as I’ve been working 13hr days, a short older lady served. No customer service whatsoever, had no smile or nothing. Anyways I proceeded to give her £10 to pay for my food, she gave me £4.65 change, now I was tired and said I gave you £10 thinking I should’ve had an extra fiver as because I said I’m knackered. She then in the rudest tone says I gave you £4.65 change yuh. Now the sentence doesn’t seem rude but it was the way she said it and just shouted it out to the whole queue. I felt so embarrassed, like just tell it to the world I got it wrong. Never had a problem with Greggs but I find a few places I’m leaving bad reviews on lately due to the lack of customer service. If you’re in a customer service job you should hold up good customer service skills!

Nice enough. Service good. Would like to have tea/coffee with the option of soya or oat as daily doesn't agree woth me. I've emailed Greggs. Otherwise its ok. The cake shopbon St Mary Street sells amazing cakes and breads and serves to go hot drinks. Sadly they also don't provide non dairy.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
