About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I’ve been in this store 7 times in 2 weeks, and each time I’ve left without anything. Every single time I go everything is cold. Today they had full trays of pizza, and of course they are all stone cold. I used to love Greggs but this is really upsetting. Can’t remember the last time I had a hot sausage roll from Greggs…

On entry to the new Greggs at Morrisons filling station in Oreston was clean, all good so far. Then on approaching the counter the pricing was incorrect on the heated savory food display for the item they were displaying and that I wanted. Mentioned this to the assistant, she did apologise. She completed my order. The bacon and cheese savoury pastry felt cold on picking up the bag but thought the temperature may have dropped slightly, but on getting back to my vehicle I opened it up and it was stone cold to the point where the cheese had gone hard and was breaking up. I didn't go back in as I was working and needed to be at a job by a certain time. This is not a complaint, but constructive criticism to at least serve your supposedly fresh baked products warm. Thanks

Hot coffee, Jam donuts on point. Whoever the advisor/manager is helping set the store up from Forder Valley is excellent and really knows her trade 👌 At the end of the day it's a Greggs, but it was clean, organised and staff were awesome.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
