Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

I used to buy the ones sold in supermarkets, but I always wanted to try a fresh one from an actual Greggs store. Unfortunately, there wasn’t one near where we were staying. While my boyfriend and I were on a Highlands tour, we happened to walk past a Greggs, and he immediately pointed it out. I was so excited because I finally got to try the famous sausage roll! It definitely lived up to the hype—fresh, flaky, warm, and so satisfying. We also tried one of the donuts, and it was surprisingly delicious (and incredibly affordable too!). Greggs is such great value for money, and I can see why it’s so popular across the UK. I’ll definitely be stopping by again the next time I visit! 🌭🍩
- EEEnnieJul 6, 20264.0We visited today to get some treats for the staff of the local care home. A lovely little shop, in the heart of Pitlochry. So if you want something to eat and drink at reasonable prices in Pitlochry then this is the place to visit. I say this because with Pitlochry being a prime place for tourists then tourist prices can be steep. Easy to locate yhe shop and it can be accessed easily for those with mobilities. Parking outside the shop can be limited too. A good selection of food, cakes, hot and cold drinks to suit all tastes. The staff are fantastic and we want to thank the staff member that served us today and gave us her Greggs app discount for the care home treats. It was very much appreciated and we are thankful and the staff at the care home loved all the sweet treats we bought.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
