Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

- HBHelen BanksSep 6, 20261.0Has to be the worst Greggs I’ve ever had the displeasure to visit. Food is usual Greggs standard but the service is appalling. The seating area on both visits was unclean and generally shabby. Worst is the customer service, unfriendly, unhelpful certainly unprofessional. Staff here need retraining, they fall far below the standards of other Greggs shops.

- HSHanan Wadood SheikhAug 11, 20261.0I visited roughly 30 minutes before closing on 2 August 2026 and ordered an Iced Caramel Latte. The overall customer service I received at the counter was completely unacceptable. The drink was handed to me missing the cream, and when I asked for it, the employee reacted with visible irritation. To make matters worse, the drink contained no caramel syrup whatsoever. When I pointed this out, instead of simply rectifying the mistake, the staff member became hostile and argued that he had added it. Another colleague joined in to argue rather than help resolve the issue, and the person on the register even attempted to charge me an extra 75p for the syrup I had already paid for. I was forced to speak with the covering manager. She was professional and offered to remake the drink, but as we had already added sugar to the original one, we declined to avoid wasting a drink. Shockingly, while I was explaining the situation, the original employee actually left his counter to interrupt and talk over his own manager. I am extremely unhappy with how I was treated by the counter team. They demonstrated zero customer care, zero accountability, and a total lack of basic manners. While the covering manager handled herself well, the conduct of the rest of the staff completely ruined the experience.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
