About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

Overall experience is awful! There was three men that are on shift. My daughter came to collect an order. I was on the phone to her. The man made her wait 20 minutes for her order for no reason at all then didn’t give her the dipping sauce to go with the order and stated that she had to pay extra for that source, if she wanted it, I was on the phone to her. This time was extremely rude considering she’s only a child age 11 made her feel extremely uncomfortable. She came to me. I went back in explained what happened that comes with the dip and sauce. I’m not have to pay extra he told me that no, no one said that she had to pay extra I stated that I heard the whole conversation as I was on the phone and I felt that he was extremely rude to My Child and I would like an apology given to My Child. He denied and said it wasn’t his issued deal with the two other members of staff in the back were laughing. Overall, the staff are extremely rude. Have no customer service skills at all. I’m embarrassed that I have to even leave a review like this.

Drive through is hardly ever open and when it is for some reason only accepts cash. Poor and slow service inside with only limited hot options even at the start of lunchtime when I would expect it to be fully stocked. Food is nice if you can actually get what you want

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
