About

Bakery
Greggs is a British food to go brand, specialising in fresh bakes, sandwiches, hot drinks and sweet treats. Founded in 1939, Greggs started out selling eggs and yeast by pushbike, ten years later the first shop opened on Gosforth High Street, in Newcastle. Now, over 80 years later Greggs is a household name thanks to their tasty Sausage Rolls, Steak Bakes, Chicken Bakes, Doughnuts, Yum Yums and freshly ground Fairtrade Coffee. With shops across the UK, you're never far away from a Greggs. And with new offerings like Click + Collect and delivery to your door with Just Eat, it's never been easier to get your flakey fix. The Greggs App gives customers tasty rewards every time they shop. From sandwiches to sweet treats, hot drinks and bakes, each time you buy a product, you'll get a stamp. Collect nine stamps in a category, and the tenth item will be free. New customers can also get a free hot drink of their choice, just for downloading the app. The Greggs Foundation aims to build stronger, healthier communities across nine principle programmes including 'The Breakfast Club programme', which helps primary school children get a nutritious start to their school day. Today there are over 680 Breakfast Clubs across the UK, serving wholesome, free breakfasts to around 44,000 children every school day- that's 8.5 million meals a year.

The young girl that served me at the counter today needs to redo her customer service training. Manners are for free. Was met with a dirty face and silence as I paid for my food, unlike previous customer. Not sure if due to skin colour. Avoid this place at all costs!

Don't go...... i visited this store on the 23rd of February I'd been on a walk with my dog and went there with my dog, i was told to get out, dont let dogs in, its a sit in store with lots of tables to sit at, i have a well behaved dog who sits under the table, i was quite surprised and annoyed. I've also been here before with my partner, every time we buy hot hot it's cold, won't go again. SO IF YOU HAVE A DOG AND WANT LUNCH GO TO COSTA, NEROS, WEATHERSPOONS, ALL OTHER INDEPENDENT FOOD OUTLETS, GREENKING PUBS ALL WELCOME PEOPLE WITH A DOG IN TO HAVE FOOD... GREGGS WHATS THE PROBLEM. YOU HAVE LOST MY CUSTOM AND I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WISHING TO EATIN IF YOUR OUT WITH YOUR DOG. RUBBISH SERVICE.

Bigger and better. More seating, nice staff with an excellent selection at good prices. Plenty of deals. Good app, qualifying food and not just coffee.

Frequently Asked Questions About Greggs

What are your opening times?

Opening times for all Greggs shops can be found on our Shop Finder. Just enter your location into the search bar to find opening times, contact details and available facilities.

What happens to your leftover food?

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations. This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes. In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve. We’re no longer taking new applications for end-of-day food donation partners, but we continue to identify regions where our shops could support a local charitable collection.
