No customer toilets 😕. We decided to visit Whitby for the day and as this coast is a charging desert, charge the car at the rare Instavolt chargers in the car park, buy some food etc. We arrived needing the loo and soon found out Whitby has no free public loos, not even the Tourist Info over the road. You have to pay for toilets in Whitby so have coins on you ladies and gentlemen. After paying and then extending the carparking whilt waiting for the charger bay to free up, and buying food, the Co-Op would only refund the ticket which hadn't expired, even though they were continuous. Couldn't be bothered to spend any more of my hard earned money in Whitby after that.
The co-op is fine. Can be busy as you'd expect in Whitby. The carpark attendant is absolutely class!

You need to clean up the outside of the building. Namely the over grown ground

The worst supermarket I've ever been to. Lay out is very odd, never enough fresh products with a very reduced range. Meat selection is limited. Everything is expensive, London prices if not more. I do Everything I can to not go in this store. Save yourself money and drive two minutes to Lidl or Sainsbury

CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS:
Whether it was an accident or deliberate, I cannot say. However, after leaving the store last night with a niggling feeling on the bill, I noticed that the first transaction was for £10.00.
Not many supermarket items ring that definite figure up.
I returned and asked where the checkout lady was (Wendy), who was there just minutes earlier. She was pointed out by an elderly cashier with black hair and large glasses (I did not get her name).
When I asked Wendy about the mysterious add-on, she couldn’t explain. Rather than speak to me, she spoke to her elderly colleague about how that could have happened. This exasperated the issue.
Strangely enough, Wendy then handed me a £10 note, despite me paying by card!
They both seemed disinterested, the elderly lady even mocking me as I left. When I asked what she said, she blamed Wendy, who was not who mocked. Great loyalty!
The checkout I visited was the only area where there were staff. Many self service tills but as we know, a disorganised mess, which is why I visited the kiosk.
My impression on the incident is, folk are on a break and in a rush, they might not always check the bill at that time of night.
On this occasion, I had my £10 refunded in cash. My only advice is, check your receipt.
Apparently when visiting Whitby for a short break, folk seem to call into CO-OP for handy 2m length of lighting cable. As seen on my receipt!
Bizarre to say the least.
