We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.

Service was bad 3 people behind the counter and I looked at them intill I was served which took bit longer I don't mind a waiting in a line but if you going to chat atleast do your job the till was pushed to the right of the store instead of left wich would be better as when you order at the till and wait for your food your stood next to someone ordering feeling cramped waiting for your food or peoples hands wrapping round you to gey there drink or food of the counter. Staff or not trained or the knowledge of greggs Vouchers or apps but it could be something to do with hearing. No good moring what would you like just waited for me to start my order. As beeing from the Northeast I do like a greegs and this greggs I would be avoiding I will try the petrol station one next time. There was no vegan options displayed.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
