  New to the area as just moved house from Portsmouth. A nice little shop which has a little of everything you need. I was surprised to see a double counter Post Office, Iceland Freezers & Spar mixed together, but it is great! I'm sure I will visit regularly as you are just down the road from my house. The staff were friendly & helpful. Thank you.

  I am a regular customer at this post office and visit almost every day, which makes this experience even more disappointing. On Saturday, 21/03/2026 at around 19:30, I was served by a female staff member wearing glasses and a face mask. I approached the counter as I usually do, standing to the left side to hand over my parcels. I clearly indicated that I had parcels to send. Without any reason, she spoke to me in a very rude and dismissive manner, saying “there is something called communication” while making unnecessary hand gestures, as if I had done something wrong. Her tone and attitude were unprofessional and disrespectful. I immediately asked her why she was speaking to me like that and what the issue was, but she ignored me entirely. I repeated myself, and again, she chose to ignore me instead of addressing the situation. I then had to go and find the store manager to raise this complaint. I also felt very uncomfortable during this interaction and based on how I was treated, I am concerned that I may have been treated differently because of my race. This is a serious matter and should be properly looked into. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, especially towards regular customers. I request that you review the CCTV footage from that time and also monitor this staff member’s conduct, and take appropriate action if necessary. Staff should be respectful and professional at all times.

  I'm leaving this on behalf of my girlfriend. You refused to serve her earlier on, just because she coughed a couple of times. She has asthma. She walks in the shop most mornings and spends money from our pockets. You may not know us or recognise us, but it's evident that you don't care. Lack of understanding of current health issues across the UK is not either a reason or excuse. She just wanted to buy some things for our breakfast. As a manager of a car dealership, I understand what it means to provide decent and honest customer care. This is something that was completely lacking this morning. Although she may walk through your doors again, I won't, unless it's to complain. We all have troubles in life, but having a second thought and being kind doesn't cost anything. If you hate your job then just don't do it. What if she had been old? Poor management. Nick.

  Someone needs to retire or get a new job. Miserable cow. No please, no thank you. Sorry to disturb you while buying from your store. I feel very uncomfortable being served by this woman every time I go in there. Not sure if spar reads these reviews, but worth rating.
