This is clearly an underfunded, under-resourced restaurant. Most drinks are out of stock, they are running a reduced food menu. The card machine doesn't work and the staff are under pressure. The lady working there was a bit miserable but is it any wonder working somewhere that clearly doesn't care about what they have available. The other server Rob was very friendly despite clearly working in poor conditions. Actually felt sorry for the staff.

Horrible food. We paid 17.98 for a tiny fish and chips and it was horrible tasting. It was so terribly disappointing. Horrible service. I genuinely forgot to take a picture. I got this tiny fish and a few chips on my plate and i went to look for staff to ask if that was what we were meant to get and she said yes that’s what it is. I said that was a tiny fish and she could not be bothered at all. Service was so so bad. No cutlery was handed to us. We were seated outside and were told to go get the cutlery ourselves. Horrible. I am so sorry but this was the worst serving of food and service in the north east. Drinks are expensive too!

We visited Beefeater Whitley Bay for their unlimited breakfast buffet and came away very impressed with the overall experience. It was a lovely way to start the day, and the restaurant had a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere from the moment we arrived. The staff greeted us with a smile, quickly showed us to our table, and explained how the breakfast buffet worked. One of the biggest highlights for us was the variety of vegetarian and vegan options available. It's always great to visit a place where plant-based choices are given proper attention rather than being treated as an afterthought. There was a good selection of hot breakfast items, along with toast, cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and plenty of drinks to choose from. Everything was regularly topped up, so there was no waiting around for food to be replenished, even during a busy breakfast service. The quality of the food was very good. The cooked breakfast items were hot, fresh, and tasty, while the continental selection offered something for everyone. We particularly appreciated having enough vegetarian and vegan choices to build a satisfying breakfast without feeling limited. The unlimited tea, coffee, and juices were an added bonus and made the meal even better value. The restaurant itself was clean and well maintained, with comfortable seating and a pleasant environment to enjoy breakfast. Despite there being plenty of guests, the atmosphere never felt rushed or noisy. The staff were attentive throughout, clearing tables promptly and making sure everything on the buffet remained well stocked. Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit and felt the breakfast offered excellent value for money. Whether you're staying nearby, visiting Whitley Bay for the day, or simply looking for a reliable place to enjoy a hearty breakfast, Beefeater is well worth considering. The combination of friendly service, a clean and comfortable setting, and a wide range of vegetarian and vegan options made this a memorable visit. We would happily return the next time we're in the area and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying breakfast with plenty of choice.

We went to celebrate a friend's Citizenship but found the kitchens closed until 5pm. The food was good & plentiful with ample choices on the menu. The staff were polite and helpful, although gave us little time to peruse the drinks menu before asking us for our order. There was a short wait for food but not excessive. This is a big room with many tables and has a pub "feel" to it. It was quiet initially but noise levels increased as the number of guests increased. However we could chat quite easily. The toilet facilities are adequate. there is parking but it is paid & busy & not well thought out. It is a public facility so is used by other visitors too.
