We’re best known for our iconic bakes, fresh sandwiches, delicious hot drinks and sweet treats. Over eighty years ago, John Gregg started out with one goal: to deliver (by pushbike) fresh eggs and yeast to the families of Newcastle. Ten years later, he chained up his bike and opened Greggs of Gosforth.
Since then, we’ve opened more and more shops and have become something of a Nation’s sweetheart. Our menu has also changed with the nation’s taste. Long-standing Greggs fans among us may even remember the olden days before the hotly debated Vegan Roll, or our refreshing iced drinks.

- DSDale StennettJan 19, 20251.0The past 9 days this coffee machine has been out and yet you lot can't stick a sign outside or stick one on counter. but you're happily let me waste 20 minutes in the queue before telling me that. Never mind how many other people that's happened to absolutely disgraceful and just shows the level of disrespect you have for your customer . When this was brought up to your staff the old bloke aged 50 plus gave me the dirtiest look and continue to ignore me . I'm currently sat at Costas across the way watching you lose customer after customer for the past 20 minutes you just lost a grand total of 118 customers . So you must be losing thousands by the day thanks to this store pull your finger out get the machine fixed and retrain your stuff and educate them

Having heard the previous customer comment that his bake was cold I asked what was hot and was told the pizza had recently come out so I purchased one and a coffee and when presented on checking it was very cold so I asked if they could do a fresh one and yes but it will be 15mins so ok yes I will wait, I was then told they had cleaned the ovens and had finished cooking for today..... it was 18:30 they shut at 20:00. Will not call in again.

We’ve been donating unsold food for a long time. Originally our bakeries would team up with large charities who would help distribute it to smaller organisations.
This process remains in place, though we’ve also worked hard to increase the amount of unsold food donated by our shops and we currently support a network of 1,077 local good causes.
In 2022, we redistributed 1,800 tonnes of unsold food through our Outlet shops. A share of the profits from the outlets, totalling £450,000, was then donated back into the communities we serve.
