  Love this place! Always have a good shop and love the pet rats nested outside! Brilliant, slight health and safety concern with the little lads tho! 🙂🐀

  Tesco would normally be one of my top choices for my big shop but this store is horribly cramped and often ends up being quite a stressful experience. There’s a lot of unused space on the site, it’s in dire need of renovation. Good for getting a couple of bits, but I only do the big shop there as a last resort.

  Just visited this Tesco and as there was barely any stock on the shelves, I asked a kind young boy who works here to check if they had any in stock, he checked and managed to get my item for me. I realised there wasn’t any of another item so I searched for another worker in store as I didn’t want to bother the young man again. I saw one worker but he seemed uninterested in his job so I hesitated to ask but ultimately decided in asking him. There was not a name tag on his shirt, so I cannot provide you with that but he was a tall young black man with dreads. Upon asking he proceeded to get his phone out and check for the item on the Tesco app on his mobile phone which I thought was odd. He proceeded to say he knew where the item was in store so he’ll go check if there’s any there. I had already looked and there wasn’t any but he’d already left before I had the chance to say anything. Came back and said what was expected, that they had none in stock (despite not checking on the devices they are given for this task). I asked him whether they had any in the back, he looked puzzled by this question but walked away presumably to check, came back empty handed after minutes of waiting. Another woman came and asked him if they do pre-made salad bowls here. He then checked on the Tesco app on his mobile phone and told her that Tesco does not do them. (They do). I was in desperate need of the item I asked for so decided to ask the young man I had gone to the first time. He checked on his device and said there was a whole box in stock in the back and came within 1 minute with my item. This tesco location really needs to double check their staff and think twice before hiring incompetent and lazy workers as I am sure this happens many times a day and are subsequently losing out on a lot of customer profit.

  I witnessed a concerning incident at Tesco Carlton involving a customer being treated disrespectfully by another shopper. When I calmly raised concerns, I was threatened with removal from the store by a security guard rather than having the matter properly addressed. I was also refused details when I asked how to make a complaint. I have submitted a formal complaint and hope Tesco reviews the CCTV and investigates the handling of this incident.
