  Been going there years and usually well stocked with friendly staff. One star for: a lot of ‘homeless folk’ seem to solicit outside their door and in the immediate area. Just this morning as soon as I got out of my car I was touted for some spare change by a bearded man stood between the bin and the cashpoint. Sorry I don’t have any money, I only have a card, was the polite response. The person then had the audacity to state, there’s a cash point just there….

  Lovely staff and helpful.only fault is one girl haley let's the team down can sense attitude most days and have over heard while in the shop calling other staff members.

  Walked into Tesco this morning looking for a gift for a work mate. Forgot my club card and was really helped by a colleague Jeanette who helped me log into it online and get my club card without the help I would of paid full price what a absolute legend

  The main vibe is generally unfriendly from the staff there. Negotiating your way around what is a narrow space by design isn’t made any easier by the various cages left in the most inconvenient spaces if you actually want to buy anything - chilled alcohol in particular. More often than not, one is permanently parked by the beer fridge, and in such a way, it is a real struggle to get beer out without the risk of smashing it. When staff are nearby, they have made no effort whatsoever to assist in moving it for you - even when it is clear you are struggling. Why it is left in such a way in a public shopping area, even when empty, you’d have to ask the people working there. That’s if you can actually find any when you arrive at the till and self-scanning area to pay, as quite often there is no one there. Okay if you have non needing approval goods to scan, or you don’t want something from behind the counter, but not so if you want to pay with cash or have alcohol etc.to be approved. Depending what time you go, there is usually a cross legged beggar ‘shift’ positioned directly outside the entrance from 5:30 p.m. until late. This makes it an unpleasant and arguably shopping experience outside even before even you get the one inside. Foolishly, I did once give one £10 as he said he had no money, no food and was stranded miles away from his sick mother. I came back an hour or so later to see him getting in to a taxi!! Could Tesco not make any local effort to get these people moved on? Who knows. But nonetheless, there is always an underlying air of intimidation about these types of situations that just makes shopping unpleasant and stressful. Regardless of addressing the difficult to solve the social problems of beggars, they COULD actually make it easier to walk around the store, they COULD put empty cages round the back and they COULD actually get the staff as a whole to be more tills area accessible and to interact with people shopping there in a more friendly and helpful way. Very hard to give any stars based on the previous other than for the convenience factor location wise for local shoppers.
