  Thank you to the staff at Tesco, my car got damaged Friday by someone who was asked to leave the store. The staff ( sorry I didn’t get names) were absolutely fantastic and was so apologetic and even thought this wasn’t their fault they still gave me flowers and chocolates which made my day! I will never forget how kind you guys were🫶🏻 thank you again.

  I visit this store serval times a week. Always clean, well stocked, staff are brilliant. Has a chemist who are lovely, opticians, bakery. Plenty of free from foods. Everything laid out nicely, and easy to navigate.

  Today, after picking up my children from school, we went shopping at Tesco. At the entrance, there was a lady (around 50–55 years old, short hair, glasses) handing out free food samples. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name. I stopped because I was interested in trying a mozzarella sample with some herbs on top. I took one, tasted it, and asked her what it was because I really liked it. Before she could answer, my 5-year-old son reached for a sample as well. She immediately stopped him, took it out of his hand, and said very seriously, “Don’t touch, just one.” I assume she meant that I had already taken one, but the way she spoke to my child was unnecessary and upsetting. My son looked confused and disappointed because he simply wanted to taste what his mum had just tried. After noticing my reaction, she offered my son and my daughter a piece of ham instead. Then she looked at my son and said, “You say thank you.” At that moment, I felt very uncomfortable. I wanted to speak to the manager, but my husband, who had been looking at something else nearby, asked me to let it go when I explained what had happened. I don’t know whether she simply doesn’t like children or whether there was another reason for her behaviour. My children were speaking Romanian with me, and I can’t say why she reacted the way she did. What I do know is that it left my little boy embarrassed, looking down at the floor because he wasn’t allowed to try the same free sample that I had just tasted. If I had known this was how we would be treated, I would never have stopped. It is a shame that a 5-year-old child was made to feel this way over a free sample.
